Kaila Yu Biography

Kaila Yu, nee Li Ting Yu twenty-one years ago in Taipei, Taiwan, moved to California with her parents at the tender age of three. During her early upbringing, her native tongue was Mandarin, however, she quickly adjusted to the English language when she arrived to the United States. Her rapid assimilation into American culture allowed her to start school a year early.

Upon entering high school, she found it difficult to blend in with the more popular students. This harsh reality forced her to hang around with the alternative crowds instead. She found herself living a relatively tame lifestyle at this point in her life and decided to concentrate more on her schoolwork. Her interacting with the alternative crowds allowed her to tap into her wild side and she developed an appreciation for music groups such as Skid Row and Guns N' Roses.
